A boat named Vashista carrying 61 tourists capsized in the river Godavari in Andhra Pradesh on Sunday. According to the reports, a boat carrying passengers drowned in the river at Kacchuluru village in Devipatnam, East Godavari. All the tourists were on a tour of famous Papikondalu hills. It is said that 50 tourists and 11 boat staff were presented on the boat during the accident. According to the latest reports, eight tourists died and more than 35 are missing. Nearly 27 tourists survived from the accident by wearing life jackets. Meanwhile, river Godavari is witnessing severe floodwater from the past few days. Majority of tourists belong to Warangal, Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam. Reports said that 22 are from Hyderabad, 13 from Visakhapatnam and 14 from Warangal. Further rescue operations are underway.
